Everything You Need & Well-Built
I had ball joint issues on my ‘01 Lincoln Town Car and decided to just redo the whole front end. I found this kit on Amazon and ordered it. I was somewhat skeptical because the price is almost half of what most of the parts stores charge for just the upper & lower control arms. In this kit you get new upper & lower control arms with ball joints installed, new inner & outer tie rods and adjuster sleeves, new sway bar end links, and a new Pitman and idler arm for the steering.Everything arrived in two boxes, the lower arms were in one box and everything else was in the other. All of the parts were packed very well, and all of the ball joints and rod ends came with protective plastic sleeves on them. Everything was painted nicely and seems well made. I could see no difference between the factory parts and the Detroit Axle ones, other than the addition of grease fittings. All of the Detroit Axle ball joints and rod ends have grease fittings you can install (the factory parts do not). I consider that a bonus that helps prevent squeaky steering. The parts that require them all come with new bolts, nuts, castle nuts, and cotter pins. The only issue I have found during installation is that I would advise you to clean out and tap the lower bolt holes for the front shock absorbers (the two in the bottom of the lower control arms). Also, be aware that you will have to remove the rubber bump stop from the factory lower control arm and install it on the new one. It’s just one nut, so it’s not a huge deal (the upper arm comes with a bump stop pre-installed).Other than that, this is a well made kit at a fantastic price, and one that will have your ‘95-‘02 Crown Vic/Grand Marquis/Town Car driving like new again!

Keep Looking, There are Better Quality Auto Parts Out There.
Don’t purchase from Detroit Axle, there are other brands that put together better kits made with better quality parts. One such brand is MevoTech which can be purchased from RockAuto and Summit Racing. The parts in this kit are poorly packaged, and they don’t look like there is any quality control in their manufacturing. If you purchase this item, you will have to tap the lower control arm to be able to reinstall the bolts that secure your front shock to the lower control arm. You should also go onto Google Maps and look at the reviews of Detroit Axle there. Buyer be ware, these parts are cheap for a reason.

Fit as described
2000 Grand Marquis. Everything fit as described. The one problem was the grease fittings were all too large for any grease gun and very difficult to use. Car handles well after rebuild.

Money saver, forget about your local auto parts store!
Installed on a 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis all parts were per to say “plug n play”. The car feels like new again! Great buy and super affordable.

Absolutely DO NOT ORDER
These parts lasted less than 3,000 miles and the lower control arm/pitman arm failed.Do NOT fall for the cheap price. It is NOT a good deal with these awful quality of parts. Tried contacting Detroit axle customer service and they would never contact me back. Worst than useless with their parts could have taken my life. Installed by a highly rated ASE certified mechanic.
